Alta Bernice Rector, daughter of the late Earnest and Mable (Clark) Bowman, was born October 30, 1939, in Van Buren, Missouri. She departed this life on December 20, 2022, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the Mark Twain Caring Center. She had attained the age of 83 years, 1 month, 3 weeks, and 1 day.

Bernice was united in marriage to Jack Rector on January 3, 1958, at Houses Creek Church of God of Prophecy.

She enjoyed going to the river and working in her yard.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jack; she is survived by several cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Houses Creek Cemetery, Van Buren, Missouri, with Dale Wallander officiating, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
