Obituary

Alta Lois Taylor was born on February 1, 1935, to Fred Lonzo and Alta Evelyn (Bay) Miller. She departed this life on March 16, 2021, at her home in Springfield, Missouri.

She is preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings; daughters, Alta, Mary, Daisy, Sara Ann, and Cynthia; sons, James, Wesley, Curtis; and grandson, Jerry.

Alta is survived by three sons, Marvin Taylor, Fred Taylor, Joe Taylor and wife Julie; daughters, Cora Garcia and husband Richard, Lois Shockey and husband Randy, Lottie Davis, Vivian Porter, Shirley Taylor and husband Terry; four brothers, Sonny Miller, Bill Miller, Kenny Miller, Larry Miller; seven sisters, Evelyn Finley, Shirley Holliman, Ada Holliman, Darlene Sullivan, Jodi Moore, Susie Grooms, Ruth Cash; thirty grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

She loved to sew, sing, and play the guitar. Alta sang with two of her sisters on a local radio program during the 1950s. She loved God and to talk about Jesus. She raised her children with strong faith.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2021, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View.  Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday evening also at the chapel. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri.  Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
