Avanell Ann (Atkins) Sallee passed away at the age of 90 years old on September 23, 2026, in West Plains, Missouri. She was born in Winona, Missouri, to Harley Otis Atkins and Thelma (Deweese) Atkins on August 23, 1936.

She married Donald Roy Sallee on October 19, 1956, and to this union, two children were born.

Avanell is survived by her family, Donald Bruce Sallee (Jackie) and their daughters, Katelyn Sallee Saute (Sean), and Oliver and Adie Hannah Sallee; and Sandra Dale Albert and daughters, Julie Albert Weiss (Jarrod), Mira, Leah, Anna, Eva, Emily Albert Duvall (Matt) Taylor and Adam.

She was a faithful Christian all of her life. She was also a member of the Winona Assembly of God and Church of God of Prophecy.

Avanell and Don owned Sallee's Market and Ava Don's Cafe in Winona. It was a local hangout for everyone.

If you knew her, she could light up a room and everyone loved her. She was a loving grandma and great grandma, and also feisty, funny, and friendly to all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, nine siblings, and her loving husband, Don.
