Barbara Ann Heavin Nicholson, 79, of Mountain View, Missouri, departed this life on April 18, 2024, at Select Specialty Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

She was born September 22, 1944, in West Plains, Missouri, to George and Mary (Orchard) Heavin. She married Dale Nicholson and to this union two sons were born, Jerry Dale Nicholson and Robert Duane Nicholson.

Barbara is survived by two sons, Jerry and wife, Mary Kay Nicholson of Mountain View, MO and Robert and wife, Sherry Nicholson of Birch Tree, MO; three beloved grandchildren, Angie Nicholson, Jacob Nicholson, and Deedra Nicholson; three brothers, Jim Heavin of Crane, MO, Russ Heavin and wife, Cindy of Galena, MO, and Darrell Heavin and wife, Cheryl of Spokane, MO; nieces, Cynthia Farley and Lindsey Jones; and nephew, Chris Heavin.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Heavin; younger brother, Leroy Heavin; sister-in-law, Ellen Heavin; and nephew, T. J. Heavin.

Barbara was known and loved by many. She was plain-spoken, and a great cook who loved her family and her two special little dogs, Tippy and Spooky.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Yarber Mortuary in Mountain View, Missouri.
