Daniel Stuart McClain was born January 26, 1970, in Dexter, Missouri, the son of James Kenneth and Essie Marie (Brown) McClain. He passed away on October 26, 2022, in Shannon County, Missouri.

He was united in marriage to Amanda Jill Groves on August 15, 2009, in Hymera, Indiana.

Daniel completed high school and was in the US Marine Corps as a machine gunner from 1989 to 1993. He worked as a laborer with the Local 703 at the nuclear power plant in Champaign, Illinois.

He is preceded in death by his father, James McClain.

Daniel is survived by his children, Mercedes McClain (John McClanahan) of Poplar Bluff, MO, Sasha McClain (Micah Casteel) of Farmington, MO, Daniel (Lindsey) McClain of Farmington, MO, Shelly McClain of Farmington, MO, Chance McClain of Villa Grove, IL, Tara Rentfro of Kenosha, WI, and Heather Rentfro of Champaign, IL; siblings, Kenneth Wayne (Lisa) McClain, Shirley (Steve) Parsley, Rita Fluckey, Brenda McClain, Teresa Wilson, David (Celina) McClain, and Laketa Parsley; grandchildren, Kazden Hamilton, Elizabeth McClanahan, Andrea  McClanahan, Cheyann  McClanahan, Able McClanahan, K'Dean McClanahan, Julieann McClanahan, Gracelyn McClain, Bentley Casteel, and Carsen Casteel.

Daniel loved spending time with his family fishing and camping. He enjoyed the outdoors and nature, hiking in the woods, and looking for waterfalls. He taught all of us how to fly-fish and will remain the fly-fishing champion in our hearts.
