David Junior Hamm, age 72, passed away on July 3, 2023, at his home in Winona, Missouri. He was born on August 20, 1950, to Jay Caldwell Hamm and Minnie Ruth (Counts) Mayberry.

Junior was six months old when he came to live with his grandpa, Charley D. Counts, and step-grandmother, Jannie (Chronister) Counts. He was raised as a brother to Frances, Christine, Betty, Johnny, Dewey, Monroe, Harvey, Willie, and Kathy. Junior gave his heart to the Lord last June.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Ann (Scott) Hamm; his mother, Minnie Mayberry; his father, Jay Hamm; and siblings, Frances Bland, Christine Honeycutt, Johnny Counts, Dewey Counts, Harvey Counts, and Willie Counts.

Junior is survived by his half-sister, Mary Best; half-brother, Charles Caraker; Monroe Counts, Betty Simpson, and Kathy Bettis; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Lutie Cemetery, Theodosia, Missouri, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri, with Troy McAfee officiating. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
