With the heaviest hearts, we share that David Anthony Watkins passed away on March 1, 2025, in Mountain View, Missouri. He was born on September 29, 1965, to Earl and Judy (Plunk) Watkins in St. Louis, Missouri.

David married Linda Mae Merckling on September 8, 1986, in Arroll, Missouri. They were blessed with three children, Sara, Seth, and Nic. He served his community by working as a cook and a caregiver in assisted living.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Watkins; parents, Judith Watkins of St. Louis, MO, and Earl Watkins of AL; children, Sara Watkins and fiancé Shaun Burr of St. Louis, MO, Seth Watkins and fiancé Rebecca Holmes of Los Angeles, CA, and Nic Watkins and wife Ashley of West Plains, MO; sisters, Allyn Watkins of St. Louis, MO, and Lisa Blair of Kansas City, MO; brothers, Erick Watkins of St. Louis, MO, and Lanny Watkisn of AL; grandchildren, Oakley Marie Watkins, Oziah Raymond Anthony Watkins, and Adilynn Jane Burr; and a host of nieces and nephews.

His biggest love in life was his kids and family. He had the brightest, most infectious smile, the bluest eyes you've ever seen, and the most contagious laugh. A true goofball with a heart of gold, he loved nothing more than cooking for and caring for others. We will miss him terribly, but we will carry his love and laughter with us always. We love you Dad.
