Obituary

Donald Warren Jungferman, Sr., 67, husband of Sherri L. Jungferman, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born on September 26, 1955, in Columbus, Georgia, to Vern and Jo Jungferman. At two weeks old, they moved to Fort Myers, Florida, where he was raised.

Donald, aka Donnie or Don, proudly served in the United States Air Force for 23 years until he retired in 1999.  He, his loving wife, and three loving sons moved to Mountain View, Missouri, in 1999.

Donald was known for his incredible sense of humor and his love for his family and friends.    He enjoyed bowling, golf, and fishing, and if you knew him, you knew he loved a little "ching-ching" as he would call it. He had a passion for coaching- he coached baseball, youth bowling, and golf (even when you didn't want it).

Donald is preceded in death by his son, Brian Philip Jungferman. Although he shared a special bond with all three of his boys, he and Brian had a special connection for their love of the Miami Dolphins, while he thought the other two boys were considered trader Kansas City Chief fans.

Donald is also preceded in death by his father, Vern Jungferman; paternal grandparents, Vern and Eva Jungferman; and maternal grandparents, Charlie and Letha Boone.

He is survived by his loving wife Sherri; two sons, Donnie (Robin) and Trey (Nicole); his mother, Jo Jungferman; eleven grandchildren, Brayden, Ashlynn, Autumn, Caroline, Bailey, Alaina, Dylan, Levi, Samuel, Hayleigh, and Khloeigh; three sisters; one brother; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, mother and father-in-law, as well as his special sisters-in-law. Not to mention all of those who are not blood-related but are a part of his Missouri family who have greatly impacted our lives here.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri, with Pastor Brad Strosnider officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
