Douglas Allen Gimpel, age 76, passed away on February 17, 2022, at his home in Mountain View, Missouri. He was born to Albert Edward, Sr. and Marian Ethel (Peasley) Gimpel in Mountain View, Missouri, on March 16, 1945.

He was united in marriage to Jennifer Daly Cummings on May 10, 1968, at Church of Christ in Mountain View. To this union two children were born, Doug, Jr. and Tina.

Doug was preceded in death by his wife, Jennifer Gimpel; his parents, Albert and Marian Gimpel; one sister, Thelma Jean Lee; one brother, Herman Dale Gimpel; and one grandson, Dillon.

Survivors include two children, Doug Gimpel and wife, Angie of Summersville, MO, and Tina Howard and husband, Terry of Mokane, MO; six siblings, Clara Mae Bradford, Albert Edward, Jr. and wife, Darlene, Louise Smith and husband, George, Esther Kenaga, Viola Digoli, and Patricia German; five grandchildren, Amy, Brett, Jeremy, Shelby, and Sara; and two great-grandchildren, Aden and Eden.

Doug served in the Army from 1965-1969, in the Vietnam War and after his service, he was a police officer from 1969-1975. His last job was as an auto parts salesman at Tri-County Auto Parts from 1975-2012.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, February 21, 2022, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri, with Daniel Woolsey officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 6-8:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be in New Salem Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri.
