Dovie Cordell Greer was born September 4, 1922, in Gravel Hill, Tennessee, to Robert and Maudell (South) Hewitt. She departed this life on February 10, 2024, in Birch Tree, Missouri, at the age of 101.

She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Dewey Raymond Greer, Jr., on November 26, 1942, and to this union, three children were born.

Dovie is preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Greer; brothers, Audith, Buford, Bobby, and Weldon; sister, Ruby Bailey; grandchildren, Danny and Shelly Grandstaff; and son-in-law, Jim Grandstaff.

Survivors include her children, Donna (James) Grandstaff, Sharon (Kent) Wisecarver, and Vicki (Garry) Clemens; grandchildren, Stacy, Garry Jr., Jim, and Jennifer; 20 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Dovie was devoted to her family and enjoyed cooking for everyone. She loved fishing and bird watching. She peacefully went home to be with her husband and those who passed before her.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Birch Tree, Missouri, with Garry Clemens officiating under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Birch Tree.  Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
