Dwain Edward Nichols, age 78, passed away on April 1, 2022, at his home in Eminence, Missouri. He was born to Henry Washington and Lucille Eva (Johnson) Nichols, on August 5, 1943, in Eminence, Missouri.
He was married to Linda McAdams on November 18, 1961, at the Baptist Church pastor's house. To this union, three children were born, Darlene, Terry, and Michael.
Dwain was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lucille Nichols; one son, Terry Nichols; one brother, Mickey Nichols; and two sisters, Dorothy Dickerson and Clara Evelyn Hasty.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Linda Nichols of the home; one daughter, Darlene Nicholson and husband, John of Birch Tree, MO; one son, Michael Nichols and wife, Traci of Eminence, MO; nine grandchildren, Ethan (Krista), Cody, Josh (Bri), Katrina (Lucas), Kyle (Hanna), Chloe, Garrett (Sam), Amber (Michael); eight great-grandchildren, Rhett, Riggins, Wade, Mia, Liam, Gracie, Kinsleigh, and Brinlee, along with three on the way this year.
Dwain enjoyed cattle farming, deer, turkey, coyote, and fox hunting. He had many fast hounds that were always ready to chase, bay, and fight to kill a coyote. Dwain also raised and rode fast gaited horses, which were some of the best and fastest in the area. His wife Linda never hesitated and enjoyed being right by his side.
He was very proud of his kids and grandkids, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Yarber Mortuary, Eminence, Missouri, with Susan Norris officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30-11 a.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will be in New Eminence Cemetery, Eminence, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Hunting Dog Association. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
