Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Wood, 80, of Willow Springs, Missouri, passed away at Willow Care Nursing Home, Willow Springs, Missouri, on January 23, 2022. Elizabeth was born on August 7, 1941, in Council Grove, Kansas, to Harvey and Helen (Cessnun) Wood.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents; one half-brother, Floyd Wood; one half-sister, Laura Jean Sheideman; one great-nephew, Zachary Clinton; and one great-niece, Amanda Fox.

Survivors include one brother, William (Bill) Wood of Springfield, MO; three sisters Patricia Hays, Pomona, MO, Teresa Clinton and husband, Bill, Willow Springs, MO, and Paula Corl and husband, Mike of West Plains, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth was kind and compassionate and enjoyed helping others. She earned her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and was faithfully dedicated to her patients for many years at St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, Missouri. Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoyed fishing and traveling, but her greatest love was holiday gatherings and time spent with her family. She was also a long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Willow Springs, Missouri.

Elizabeth will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Willow Springs, Missouri, with Father Joseph Stoverink officiating, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs.
