Genevia Rose Waggoner Sims was born February 18, 1947 in Peace Valley, Missouri to Raymond and Mary Waggoner.  She departed this life on December 27, 2020 at Willow Care Nursing Home.

She was married to Bill Sims on January 12, 1965 in Salem, Arkansas.  They were blessed with three children.

Genevia was a cook at Willow Springs School for almost thirteen years.  She made many friends there and enjoyed watching the students grow through the years.  She and her husband most recently enjoyed their retirement on the family homestead in Peace Valley.

Genevia is survived by her husband, Bill, of the home; a son, Steven Sims (Darline) of Springfield, MO; and a daughter, Melody Bradley (Justin) of Oran, MO.  Genevia has seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Also surviving is her special sister, Rita Bassham, of West Plains, MO along with several other siblings and their families.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Tina Lynn.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in New Hope Baptist Cemetery, Peace Valley, Missouri with Pastor Joel Hinds officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Louis Children's Hospital or New Hope Baptist Cemetery in Peace Valley.  Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
