Ginger Wynn
Smith
Oct 28, 1960 — Oct 28, 2025
Ginger Wynn (Norton) Smith, of Winona, Missouri, passed away on October 28, 2025, on her 65th birthday. She was born on October 28, 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Gene Edward and Rachel Helen (Shoemaker) Norton.
Ginger spent her younger years in St. Louis, Missouri, before her family relocated to Winona, Missouri. Here, Ginger met and later married the love of her life, Dennis Lynn Smith, on May 20, 1978, in Winona. Together, they had three children, Heather, Dennis Jr., and Jennifer; one bonus son, Paul; three grandchildren, Ashley, Kaylee, and Dylan; and one great-grandson, Lucas.
Ginger was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked at many places throughout the years and enjoyed her time at all of them. She spent many years working at Paramount Cap Factory, Nu-Way Foods, and for the Winona School District, in the cafeteria. Ginger would talk to anyone, and cared greatly for everyone she met. She loved cooking, sharing stories about her experiences and her childhood, and hosting parties and get-togethers. Her favorite place to be was with friends and family, more importantly with her husband, children and grandchildren, and she was especially proud of each of them.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Lynn Smith Sr.; one son, Dennis Lynn Smith Jr; one daughter, Jennifer Wynn Fitzanko (Sean); one bonus son, Paul Neal; two granddaughters, Ashley Loucks (Sawyer) and Kaylee Neal; one grandson, Dylan Smith; one great-grandson, Lucas Loucks; one sister, Gail Cook (John), and a hoard of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Helen Norton; one daughter, Heather Smith; two brothers, Leland and Joesph Norton; and two sisters, Janet Bay and Linda Wallace.
