Gwendolene Ivy Tyler, 99, was born February 12, 1927, in Tutbury, England, to Jack and Ivy Evelyn (Smith) Gorton.

Gwendolene was married to Elbert Cecil Tyler on March 4, 1944, at Christ Church in Tampa, Florida. They were blessed with two daughters, Ivy and Evelyn. She had ten siblings: Ivy, Emily, Sylvia, Audrey, Lilly, Margaret, Edwin, Edward, Donald, and Brian. She worked as a school cook at Twin Lakes Bruster Dickenson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Elbert; parents, Jack and Ivy Gorton; daughters, Ivy Jennings and Evelyn Morey; and granddaughter, Sasha Truett.

Survivors include grandson, Brody (Brooke) Fair; granddaughters, Tracy Fair and Michelle Morey; great-grandchildren, Emily Fair, Madelyn Wilbanks, Mikayla Shelley, Chyann Watts, and Justin Keller; and nine great-great-grandchildren with one on the way in November.

Gwendolene had a passion for knitting, finding comfort in creating warm items for family and friends. She was also a dedicated fan of the Tampa Bay Rays, always cheering them on and enjoying every game with a snack in hand.
