Harold Arthur
Miller
Aug 31, 1939 — Feb 27, 2023
Harold Arthur (lovingly known by all as Sonny) Miller was born August 31, 1939, to Fred Lonzo and Alta Evelyn (Bay) Miller in Howell County Missouri. He passed away on February 27, 2023, at the age of 83.
He was married to Betty Roberts, and to this union, five daughters were born.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three daughters, Dena Faye, Gloria Dianne, and infant daughter, Sheila; a son-in-law, David Spahn; four brothers, Harry, James, Cecil, and Freddy; and four sisters, Virginia Montgomery, Lois Taylor, Ellen Ford, and Jerri Bay.
Sonny is survived by his wife, Betty of Saint Louis; two daughters, Sonya Spahn of Saint Louis, MO, and Virginia Miller of Bourbon, MO; two granddaughters, Crystal (companion, Michael) and Kimberly; two great-grandsons, Gabriel, and Benjamin; one great-granddaughter, Zeraphina; three brothers, Bill (Betty) Miller of Willow Springs, MO, Kenny (Louise) Miller, and Larry Miller both of Mountain View, MO; seven sisters, Evelyn Finley of Marshfield, MO, Shirley Holliman of Clarksville, AR, Ada Holliman of Harriet, AR, Darlene Sullivan of Independence, MO, Jody Moore (Lloyd) of Mountain View, MO, Ruthie Cash of Rolla, MO, and Susie Grooms (Dave) of Fremont, MO; and a host of other family and friends.
Sonny was known to be a hard worker, even spending some time in the cotton fields at some point. He worked while a young man at Doane Ranch before moving his family to St. Louis and going to work for General Motors, where he was employed for many years until retiring somewhere around age 62.
Sonny loved to go deer hunting. One always knew that he would bring his "bed roll" back to the home place prepared to stay for the season come November. He always seemed to have a bit of a desire to return to his roots around the Peace Valley area.
Most of all, Sonny loved his family. From the four daughters of his own to the granddaughters, right on down to the grandchildren. He was known to spend a considerable amount of time each week with those little ones over the past few years. Their little hearts will feel that there is a piece missing with him gone.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri, with Bro. Bill Miller officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri.
