Iris Irene Ledgerwood, age 96, passed away on March 4, 2022, at Rock Point Nursing Home in Birch Tree, Missouri. She was born to Virgil and Golda (Cearley) Upshaw, on February 28, 1926, in Douglas County, Missouri.

She was united in marriage on August 21, 1941, to John Leo Ledgerwood in Caldwell, Idaho. To this union seven children were born, Golda Lee, Danny Joe, Donnie Ray, Larry Leo, Diana Marie, Juanita Louise "Nita", and Rodney Mike.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Golda Upshaw; husband, Leo Ledgerwood; three children, Golda Lee Ledgerwood, Juanita Louise Ledgerwood, and Rodney Mike Ledgerwood; one granddaughter, Julie Ledgerwood; one son-in-law, David Tune; and two sisters, Juanita Tabor and husband, Joe, and Louise Ledbetter and husband, Lee.

Survivors include four children, Danny Ledgerwood of Fordland, MO, Donnie Ledgerwood and wife, Bev of Birch Tree, MO, Larry Ledgerwood and wife, Kaye of Birch Tree, MO, and Diana Tune of Willow Springs, MO; twelve grandchildren, Tammy Waller, Patty McLean, Adam Ledgerwood, Shannon Ledgerwood, Shawna Martin, Emily Ledgerwood, Benji Ledgerwood, Jode Huffman, Kammy Borgman, Brian Tune, Libby Lowe, and Toby Tune; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Irene was a homemaker, caregiver, follower of Jesus Christ, a Sunday school teacher to small children, and a babysitter. She loved her family, gardening, and her flowers.

She will be missed by her children, grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Yarber Mortuary, Birch Tree, Missouri, with Pastor Jeff Brake officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Birch Tree. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
