James Lee Daugherty was born in Los Angeles, California, on April 17, 1951, to John Edward and Irma A. (Kallen) Daugherty. He passed away on December 10, 2022, at his home in Mountain View, Missouri, at the age of 71.

James is preceded in death by his parents, John and Irma Daugherty; son-in-law, Shalen Lamb; and brother, John Bernard "Lightning Bear" Daugherty.

Survivors include three daughters, Michelle (William) Derr, Heather Lamb, and Melissa (William) Skidmore; two sisters, Irma Mae Hurst and Patricia Rice; and five grandchildren, Christopher Derr, Briar Lamb, Cierah Lamb, Sam Skidmore, and Emily Skidmore.

James graduated from high school and served in the US Navy and US Marines. He obtained his master's degree and pursued a career in chemical engineering.

Private inurnment will be at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Mountain View, Missouri. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
