James Leroy Miller, 69, of Van Buren, Missouri, passed away peacefully from this life and into the arms of our Lord on September 15, 2021. He was born March 30, 1952, in West Plains, Missouri, the son of James E. and Mary Lucille (Stutesman) Miller.

He was united in marriage to Wynona Faye Glasscock on September 10, 1971, in Mountain View, Missouri. To this union, two children were born.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Mary Miller; sister, Loretta Layman; and nephew, Kyle Gilliam.

He is survived by his step-mother, Joyce Montrosse of Mountain View, MO; one son, James Donald Miller and wife, Cristy of Mountain View; three granddaughters, Alayna Miller of Decatur, GA, Kymberlin Conner and husband, Jacob of Mountain View, and Olivia Miller of the home; five sisters, Wanda Grimm and husband, Jim of Belleville, IL, Carol Denning and husband, Doug of Winona, MO, Donna Gilliam and husband, Mick of Peace Valley, MO, Sheila Moore and husband, Bob of Lebanon, MO, and Tambra Honeycutt and husband, Steve of West Plains, MO; brother-in-law, Dee Layman of Mountain View; three step-siblings, Toni Bretzinger and husband, Chris of Indiana, Ron Bohannon of Missouri, and Carla Robbins and husband, Steven of Tennessee; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He loved dancing, especially the two-step, and along with the rest of the family, a good game of Pinochle. Jim enjoyed farming and hunting whether it was turkey or deer, and occasionally joined his dad for a trip out west for elk.

Jim will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Graveside services will be held Monday, September 20, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com
