Jeannie Faye Cooey, age 97, passed away on December 19, 2023, at The Manor Nursing Home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was born on October 26, 1926, in Bonifay, Florida, to Arthur and Jahazie (Thomas) Howell. Faye was married to Clarence E. Cooey on August 27, 1946.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, and her parents, Arthur and Jahazie Howell.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Watson of Piedmont, MO; her son, Alan Cooey of Riltondo, TX; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Faye absolutely loved flowers and working in her yard. She also loved knitting, crocheting, and painting. When Faye was teaching, she always loved and enjoyed all the children. She enjoyed being at home with her children, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri, with Darrell Derryberry officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12-1:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Winona. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
