Jerry Dale McAfee, of Birch Tree, MO, departed this life Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at the age of 71.

He was born on November 30, 1947, to Kenneth McAfee and Mae (McBride) McAfee in Eminence, MO.

Jerry is survived by his two children, Becky Foster (Rob) and Jennifer Drexler, all of Birch Tree, MO; siblings, Betty Murphy, Glenna Martin, Margaret Baker (Freeman) all of Birch Tree, Rose Sechrest (Rick) of Mountain View, Roger Bradshaw and Stevie Bradshaw (Sonja) all of Birch Tree, MO; five grandchildren, Codey Foster (Raven), Tiffany Harding, Ryan Drexler, Colten Foster and Mariah Foster; two great-grandchildren Kaden Drexler and River Foster.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Larry McAfee.

Jerry loved to hunt, fish, and gig, and he loved his turkeys, ducks and chickens.  Jerry honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War after enlisting at the age of 19. He was awarded many medals for his service and extraordinary heroism all of which include two overseas services bars, Vietnam campaign medal, two purple heart medals, combat infantry badge, good conduct medal, sharpshooter badge M16, distinguished service cross, silver star and bronze star.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 24, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Yarber Mortuary chapel in Birch Tree. The family will receive their friends beginning at 10:00 a.m., also at the chapel.    Interment will be in Oak Forest Cemetery in Birch Tree, with full military honors.   Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com .
