Jo Carolyn Burton, 89, of Alton, Missouri, passed away on March 22, 2024 at her home. She was born February 19, 1935 in Clarendon, Arkansas, the daughter of Ollie and Nola Marie (McCrea) Deaton.

She married Stanley E. Burton on August 4, 1954 and together they had three children.  Carolyn loved to dance with the Red Hatters and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casinos.  She loved sewing for her daughter in her younger years.  She also loved crocheting and Swedish weaving with the girls.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael Burton and Sylvia, and Jeanny Blankenship and Craig; eight grandchildren, Michael and Jeni Burton, Amanda and Nick Herndon, Mason and Haily Burton, Heather and Mike Johnson, Sandy and Joe Vance, Dustin and Alex Blankenship, Daniel Burton, and Jessica and Gustewo Trana; and 25 great grandchildren.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; her son, Nat Burton; and her parents, Ollie and Nola Deaton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2024 at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri with Kirk Langston officiating.  Interment will follow in Veterans Cemetery, Mountain View.  Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
