Obituary

Joe Eugene Essig died on July 14, 2021, at the age of 75 years, due to bad lung disease and COVID. He was born on September 7, 1945, in Parsons, KS, to Clay Emmett and Mary Emma (Milan) Essig.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay and Mary Essig of Parsons, KS; four sisters, Pearl Dodson of Kansas City, KS, Beverly Ann Kuffer of Parsons, KS, Elnora Koffman of California, and Sharon Kay Gadosh of Chicago; three brothers, Arden Essig, Carl Essig, and baby William Lee Essig all of Parsons, KS.

Joe is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bonnie Joan Essig of Mountain View, MO; one daughter, Beverly Joe'on Rasmussen of Mountain View, MO; one son, David Billman, Jr. of Neosho, MO; five grandchildren, Kylem Jo Rasmussen of Mountain View, MO, Kent Lee Rasmussen of Oregon, John David Billman of Neosho, MO, Joe Frank Billman of OK, and Stephanie Billman of KS; one adopted grandson, Dalton Yarber of Mountain View, MO; and nine great-grandchildren.

He loved being a heavy equipment operator and construction man, and also loved working on his farm and just being on his land. Joe also enjoyed traveling around the United States with his wife and family. Joe and Bonnie both enjoyed riding and traveling on their motorcycle as well as riding horses.

Joe dedicated his life to Jehovah God in November 1982, in St. Joseph, MO. He whole-heartedly enjoyed serving Jehovah with his brothers and sisters of faith and was well-loved and showed love to all he met. He will be dearly missed.
