Kim Russell Phipps, age 68, of Summersville, Missouri, passed away on November 25, 2025. He was born on June 1, 1957, in Wichita, Kansas, to Jerald and Edna Phipps.
Kim grew up surrounded by a strong and loving family. He proudly served his country as an avionics technician in the United States Navy before spending many dedicated years as a truck driver. Kim was known for his steady work ethic, generous spirit, and deep love of the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and gunsmithing were among his greatest passions, and he shared them gladly with family and friends.
Kim is survived by his beloved wife, Pat Phipps of Summersville, MO; his ex-wife, Kathy Phipps of Mountain View, MO; his children, Kimberly Ellis and husband, Nathan of Brighton, MO, Jeff Phipps and wife, Richelle of Battlefield, MO, Katie Phipps of Mountain View, MO, Keri Tindle and husband, Chris of Republic, MO, and Dwayne Ivey of Lusby, Maryland; and his cherished grandchildren, Zac Ellis and wife, Madigan, Matthew Roby, Kyan Phipps, Ty Roby, Hayden Tindle, Reece Ivey, and Savannah Ivey.
He is also survived by his mother, Edna Phipps, and siblings Keith Phipps, Patti Phipps, and Michelle Tune, and numerous beloved extended family members. Kim was preceded in death by his father, Jerald Phipps.
Kim's legacy of love, loyalty, and quiet strength will live on in the many lives he touched. His family will forever treasure the memories shared with him.
Family and friends are invited to join us on December 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at First Church of God in Mountain View, Missouri, for a family guided Celebration of Life. Please come prepared to share your favorite story or memory of Kim as we honor his life and legacy. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View.
