Larry "Fats"
Elliott
Jan 20, 1953 — Sep 5, 2022
Larry "Fats" Elliott was born January 20, 1953, in Birch Tree, Missouri, to Lovena "Nene" Dixon. He was united in marriage to Joni Hyslop on February 14, 1986. Fats departed this world at his home in Birch Tree on September 5, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 69 years. His battle with medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile.
Fats was, in his own words, "A jack of all trades and a master of none". He was everything from a mechanic, a dozer operator, and a logger. Many times, he did all of these in the same day.
Fats' love for the outdoors extended beyond the workday. He loved spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids, family, and friends, whether it was at the lake or at deer camp. As long as they were together, he was a happy man.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joni; children, Scottie (Shannon) Elliott, Tonie (Gaylon) Noble, Bear Elliott and their mother, Wilma (Punk) Stevenson all of Mountain View, MO, and Katie Elliott (Joe) of Birch Tree, MO; grandchildren, Dalton (Janae) King, Kasey (Dalton) Brooks, MaKayla Elliott, Bethanie Chaney, Kyleigh Noble, Wyatt Noble, Brennan Elliott, Isabella Elliott, Natalie Triplett, Allisyn Noble, Cooper Triplett, Leighla and Hannah Rodriguez; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Dwight (Ruth) Dixon of Poplar Bluff, MO, Gakieta (Don) of Troy, MO; sister-in-law, Sheila Martin of Winona, MO; a very special nephew and niece, Jeremiah (Courtney) Dickson and Lacey (Kendra) Dickson; good friends and neighbors Gary & Elizabeth Toy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Nene; grandpa, Jim Culp; infant daughter, Samantha Elliott; grandson, Dakota King; brother, Terry Dickson; and nephew, Buzz Dickson.
Fats will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Yarber Mortuary, Birch Tree, Missouri with Pastor Jeff Brake officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2-3:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Forest Cemetery, Birch Tree. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
