Larry Joe Ellis, age 78, passed away on April 27, 2022, at his home in Eminence, Missouri. He was born to John Cloyd and Ruby Mae (Walker) Ellis on September 20, 1943, in Flora, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruby Ellis.

Survivors include two sons, Kelly Brent (Teresa) Ellis of Fairview Heights, IL, and Kevin Michael (Karlee) Ellis of Fort Worth, TX; one sister, Carolyn (George) Harrell of Deland, FL; and five grandchildren, Miriam, Brandon, Emily, Kellan, and Kylee.

Larry served in the United States Marine Corps from May 1, 1961, to January 29, 1967, and he was honorably discharged as Lance Corporal (LCPL) E-3. After being discharged, he worked as an electrician and a master carpenter. Larry was a member of The Evangelical United Brethren Church and was baptized on November 22, 1953. A lifelong member of the VFW and American Legion, he also enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, cars, motorcycles, 4-wheelers, and his dog, Charlie.

A memorial graveside service with military honors will be held on May 27, 2022, at 11:30 a.m., at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Eminence, Missouri. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
