Obituary

Larry Owen Hornbeck, aka Lucki Reihm or Lucki O'Brian to his friends, was an amazing husband, father, and loving and loyal son. He lost his fight with cancer on July 3, 2023, at the age of 34. He was surrounded by love as he crossed into the beauty of Heaven above.

Larry completed high school and had started college when he found his life's mission; to be a Dad. He had lived his whole life plagued by a terrible rare anemia, which kept him from so many of his dreams, such as working or joining the military, but being a father was something he had wanted since childhood. Larry finally had his fullest dreams answered. He married a beautiful woman he loved, raising their four kids, and living in a beautiful home surrounded by mountains.

The simplest pleasures brought Larry joy. Spending time with family, playing with the kids, having family bbq or with a group of friends, or working on vehicles. He was always looking out for everyone else and making sure they were doing ok. Not just his family, but his many friends, who in their own way were his extended family as well. In his most darkest hour, Larry would do anything he could to make everyone else's life better at any cost. A man of his word and a true observer, that observed the deepest of things you wouldn't think one might see, he always wanted to help and make it all better. He could always bring smiles to your face, even when you thought it was impossible. He always brought so much joy.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Owen Reihm, and his beloved sister, Elizabeth Hornbeck, whom he is laughing and dancing with in Heaven. He is survived by his loving parents, Mark and Lisa Hornbeck; adoring wife, Christena Hornbeck; four beautiful children, Liberty, Justice, Izahah, and Nation; his brother, Luke, and sister, AubreyAnna; grandmother, Helen; and along with many friends, cousins, aunts, and uncles, and of course his loving pets.

A family-guided memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at First Baptist Church, Birch Tree, Missouri. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
