Obituary

On April 21, 2025, Lyman Russell "Russ" Tidwell finished his race of 85 years into the arms of Jesus. Russ was the son of Lyman and Evelyn Tidwell.

He spent his early years in Imperial, Missouri, until he enlisted in the Navy. He was proud to be a veteran because he loved his country.

He was a dedicated Christian who loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He loved his family, his bride of 63 years, Lottie; their three children, Christy (Dave) Hays, Ricky (Susan) Tidwell, and Linda Tidwell; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister, Sharon Gerber.

One of Mister Russ's greatest joys was teaching the little ones that God loved them. He was a volunteer firefighter, EMT, and instructor for over fifty years. He now joins his parents, Lyman and Evelyn Tidwell; and his sister, Ruth Ann Kraemer in heaven.

The family would like to thank the VA Home Based Primary Care and all of the Compassus Team for the splendid care they provided him.

Visitation will be at Pomona Christian Church on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. followed by a family-guided celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. Marcus Allen will be officiating. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs, Missouri. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
