Mattie Bernice (Dyer) McBride was born June 2, 1940, to John Leonard and Elva (Benton) Dyer in Lawrenceburg, Missouri. Bernice passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Mountain View Healthcare, Mountain View, Missouri.

Bernice was married to Junior McBride in Sarcoxie, Missouri, on August 18, 1956, and to this union, four children were born, Mearl (Deb) McBride of Winona, MO, Yvonne (Dennis) Asher of Willow Springs, MO, Rick (Sherry) McBride of Winona, and Sharon Kay (Garry) Pritchett of Winona.

She had ten grandchildren, Michelle, Ricky, Katie, Matt, Jenna, Melissa, Nathan, Nicholas, Emmy, and Joey; fifteen great-grandchildren, Hannah, Colton, Canaan, Elizabeth, Haylea, Levi, Chevy, Tyler, Rikki, Dawn, Analise, Porter, Avory, Huxley, Loretta, and Waylon; and she claimed, Lacy McClurg as her adopted grandchild. She loved her grandbabies.

Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, John and Elva; her husband, Junior; her brother, LeRoy (who passed at birth); her in-laws, Harold and Mary.

Bernice and Junior were married for almost 50 years, and together they owned and operated the business McBride Logging and Sawmill. They were a Team.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winona, Missouri. She was saved and baptized at an early age. Bernice had told Sharon Kay a couple of weeks ago her heart was right with God, and she was ready.

Bernice loved to crochet and if you ever got one of her afghans, it was a treasure.

She will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri, with Bro. Darrell Jones officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Birch Tree, Missouri.
