Norma Marie
Colyott
Jan 31, 1926 — Jun 26, 2026
Norma Marie (Jones) Colyott was born on January 31, 1926, to Hervey “Noke” and Marie Jones in Eminence, Missouri.
She married Floyd Colyott on October 5, 1946. From this union, two children were born: Lynnette (Colyott) Grade and Gregory Colyott.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Grade and husband, Nolan Grade; her son, Greg Colyott and wife, Debra Beck Colyott; her grandchildren, Craig Grade and wife, Jodi Grade, Mindi Grade, and Aaron Wright; two great-granddaughters, Taylor Grade and Hannah Grade; and many nieces and nephews.
Norma is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Colyott; her parents; her brother, Ken Jones and his wife, Mary Lou Jones; her sister, Elaine (Jones) Stringer and her husband, Bill Stringer; her aunt, Evelyn Burnham; and her great-nephew, Brian Smith.
Norma was a good Christian and the best mom anybody could ever have. She cherished her family and loved her nieces and nephews as her own. She loved to travel and took a bus trip with friends to the East Coast, went to Hawaii with family, and took a cruise to Alaska. She belonged to the Eastern Stars in Eminence. She worked at the Red Mill at Alley Spring and was also the school marm. She loved to write stories and share them with family, which we all enjoyed. She never met a stranger, and those who were lucky enough to meet her loved her.
As much as we will miss her, we are happy that she is in the arms of Jesus and is rejoicing in heaven with all those who were waiting for her.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Yarber Mortuary, Eminence, Missouri, with Bro. Alan Stringer officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Munsell Cemetery, Eminence. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
