Norma Jean
Drain
Dec 30, 1937 — Mar 6, 2026
Norma "Jean" (Huffman) Drain, 88, was born in Madera, California, on December 30, 1937, and went home on March 6, 2026. She lost her long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
On her journey, she is reunited with her husband, Olen O. Drain; her mother, Annie (Caldwell) Huffman; James "Vernon" Huffman; Haskell "Doil" Huffman; Melton Huffman (Pansy); brother-in-law, Gilbert Bell; her daughter, Cheryl Boyet; nephew, Frankie; and great-nephew, Christian.
Cherishing her memory, she leaves behind her daughters, Linda Drain of Collinsville, IL, Gwendlyn "Gwen" Drain of Winona, MO, Kathryn "Kat" Simard (Marty) of Winona, MO; four grandchildren, Alexandria J. Drain, Devyn O. Drain, Matthew Simard (Caroline), and Lucy Simard; her sister Inez Bell of N. Las Vegas; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and dear friends.
Jean was an active member of Heights Community Church in Collinsville, Illinois, and she had a passion for traveling, which she enjoyed with Olen. Her annual trips to California and N. Las Vegas with Linda created lasting memories, as did the family camping trips at Carlyle Lake. Passionate about knitting, she lovingly made house slippers for her daughters, nieces, great-nieces, and nephews. Jean loved staying busy and found joy in singing and swimming.
Linda and Devyn cared for her as long as they could at home. Then Jean spent three years at the Villas of Holly Brook in Collinsville, and she was lastly cared for by Kat and Gwen until she returned to her heavenly home. Mom, we loved you dearly, and you will be incredibly missed.
Graveside services will be held on March 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis, Missouri, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
