Rae Jean "Jeannie" David, 90, of Mountain View, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2024.

Jean graduated from Mountain View High School and later attended Washington University School of Nursing. She worked for 50 years at St. Francis Hospital part-time and started the first health careers program at Liberty High School. After retirement in 1995, Jean worked part-time at the LPN school in West Plains. She worked as a nurse till 2013.

She was born on June 13, 1933, in Elijah, Missouri, to Ray and Velma (Skelton) Tackitt. She was a member of the Mountain View Church of Christ.

Jean later married Roy Wayne "Butch" David in Charleston, Missouri, and to that union were born Keith, Bruce, Denise, and Mark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Butch David, and her parents, Ray and Velma Tackitt.

She is survived by her sons, Keith (Debbie) David, Bruce (Sandy) David, and Mark (Trish) David; her daughter, Denise David; one brother, Bob (Fern) Tackitt; 9 grandchildren, Julie David, Richelle (Jeff) Phipps, Adam (Kristen) David, Brian McSweeney, Derek (Amber) David, Cody (Melissa) David, Bret (Jessica) McSweeney, Amber (Greg) Hare, and Shea (Ryan) Feltman; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri, with Dale Law officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mountain View.
