Rita Kay (Young) Perry, our beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, at the age of 77.
Rita was a source of love and warmth to everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Rita's kindness, generosity, and gentle nature touched the lives of many. Her memory will live on in our hearts.
Rita was not afraid of challenging work. Throughout her lifetime, she worked in many different fields. In her early years, she worked at the HD Lee factory with her Aunt Thelma. She worked several years in the healthcare field, from nursing assistant to surgery technician. Her most valued work experience was at the Agape House in Mountain View, Missouri. She took pride in helping those in need, giving them the tools to get a fresh start in life. She cherished spending time with family. She loved being at Signal with a Diet Coke in hand, pushing buttons on the machine, wishing to win big so she could buy a new pair of shoes. She enjoyed watching the Gameshow Channel and Fox News. One of her other favorite things to do was going to junk stores and shopping for bargains.
Rita was preceded in death by her mother, Georgia (Harrell) Young; her aunt, Thelma Stowe; her beloved sister, Francis Ann Burnette; and precious grandson, Dakote Snyder.
She is survived by her eight children, Glenn Mills and Ryan Holmes, Tammy and Timmy Rogers, Micheal Mills and Karen Brown, Kevin and Melinda Mills, Les and Ronda Snyder, Jeff Snyder and Ashley Holtzmann, William and Salena Snyder, and Michelle and James Wardrip; honorary son, Danny and Janine McGuire; her brother-in-law, Douglas Burnette; her sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Bob Church; forty grandchildren, Harper, TJ, John and Abby, Ashley and Jacob, Taylor and Shannon, Josh, Kiel, Chris, Mathew, Jasmine, Tori, Tristan, Micheal and Emily, Tyler and Kendra, Sabrina, Leah, Victoria, Elizabeth and Dylan, Theodore, Cassandra, Harrison, Aubriana, Gabriel, Aaron, Makaya, Shaylee, Ryan and Eva, Kaylea and Tyler, Koltin, Brailee, Tay-Tay, Kinley; and twenty great-grandchildren, Marcie, Nora, Sofia, Wyatt, Nataleigh, Aviana, Kannon, Addi, Naty, Brittain, Nova, Cora, Nola, Miley, Daisy, Phoenix, Cypruss, Jasmine, Hudson, and Oliver.
All of these beloved members from each family were able to start and grow because of the beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandma, who was Rita Kay Perry.
There will be a graveside service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Mountain View, Missouri, on August 15, 2026, at 12:00 pm. Arrangements were under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
