Robert Samuel Nielsen, 84 years old, passed away on December 4, 2021, at his home in West Plains, Missouri. He was born to Robert and Ethel (Harrison) Nielsen, on February 7, 1937, in Washington, D.C.

He worked at West Plains Music Store for 32 years and retired in 2002. Robert loved music and was a great musician. He was a member of Nazarene Church, West Plains, Missouri.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ethel Nielsen; son, Jeffrey Nielsen; sisters, Roberta Petty and Mary Huffines; sister-in-law, Joyce Harris; and brothers-in-law, Marvin Kelman and Lloyd Henry.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Nielsen of the home; one son, Jon Nielsen and wife, Robin of West Plains; two siblings, Dan Nielsen of Dallas, TX and Esther Nielsen of Oklahoma City, OK; three brothers-in-law, Jack Petty of Oklahoma City, OK, Jim Taylor of West Plains, and Larry Harris of West Plains; two sisters-in-law, Waneta Kelman of Hawaii and Wilda Henry of Kansas; six grandchildren, Allie, Ellie, Miriam, Kara, Rachel, and Henry all of West Plains; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
