Obituary

Ronnie Paul Beller, 64, of Eminence, Missouri, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 2, 2021, due to complications from COVID-19. Ronnie was born the eldest of three children to Leo and Alma (Blackburn) Beller on March 23, 1957, in Houston, Missouri.

Ronnie attended Kentucky Christian University, where he met Debbie. They were married on May 20, 1978, and celebrated 43 years of marriage this past May. Their marriage beautifully exemplified the love and faithfulness of Jesus. Ronnie and Debbie were blessed with two children, Tabitha Ann in 1983 and Joel Aaron in 1990.

Upon graduation in 1979, Ronnie started his career in ministry. He served faithfully in ministry for over 40 years, first as a youth minister but mostly as a wilderness skills instructor for Discovery Ministries. Ronnie was the first intern Discovery Ministries ever had and one of the most prolific guides in its history. He was an accomplished rock climber, whitewater and flat-water canoeist, and trip guide and has been instrumental in the building up and carrying out of this ministry's 38-year history.

He was known for his joyful laugh and good conversation. He loved to spend meaningful time with others while enjoying God's beautiful creation. His time at Discovery Ministries truly captured his passions of ministry, service, and nature.

Ronnie took time to enjoy all life has to offer, always remembering to slow down and be present. On his days off, he loved taking his family canoeing, hiking, and camping. Ronnie was a wonderful husband, dad, and grandfather. He thought the world of his grandsons, and he was never too busy to take them on walks down the gravel road or to the river. Ronnie led his family to be Christ-like, in prayer and by example. His relationship with Christ held the utmost importance to him, and he took every opportunity to worship, whether it be through scripture, prayer, or music.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alma (Blackburn) Beller; two uncles, Seldon Blackburn and Bob Haiphcock; two aunts, Lois (Beller) Hutsell and Mary (Beller) Haiphcock; and nephew, John Martin.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Debbie (Camp) Beller; daughter, Tabitha (Chad) Odle of Willow Springs, MO; son, Joel (Faith) Beller of Nashville, TN; four grandsons, Adler, Eian, and Kyler Odle of Willow Springs, MO and Greyson Beller of Nashville, TN; his father, Leo (Marcia) Beller of Jasper, GA; brother, David (Amy) Beller of Ellijay, GA; sister, Sharon Kay Martin of Jasper, GA; brother-in-law, Brian (Lori) Camp of Waynesville, OH; sister-in-law, Kathy Camp Stewart Winkler of Lebanon, OH; two uncles, John (Marie) Beller of Cabool, MO and Red Hutsell of Centralia, MO; and a host of other family members, nieces, and nephews.
