Shannon was united in marriage to Carl Dwain Jones on May 19, 1962, and they were blessed with four children, Dennis, Jeff, Lori, and Rex.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwain; her parents; one sister, Anita Wakefield; four brothers-in-law, Loyd Matthews, Al Stevenson, Raymond Wakefield, and Jim Wilson; and one son, Dennis Dixon.

Shannon is survived by her sons, Jeff Jones and wife, Donna of Dexter, MO, and Rex Jones and wife, Johna of Winona, MO; her daughter, Lori Chambers and husband, Lonnie of Winona, MO; daughter-in-law, Ila Dixon of Poplar Bluff, MO; three sisters, LaVerne Matthews of Poplar Bluff, MO, Norma Stevenson of Saint Clair, MO, and Sharon Wilson of Winona, MO; one brother, Mickey Myers and wife, Jean of Winona, MO; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Shannon led her life as an example to others, having a great love for her family and for God. She thoroughly enjoyed spending her time, coordinating and participating in a vast array of activities for her church. Shannon particularly loved to sing, and had a passion for teaching and caring for children. Shannon was known as "Gram" to not only all her grandchildren but to countless others who were blessed to know her. She was a pillar to her family and to all the many friends she embraced as family along the way.

Shannon inspired many with a strong faith she eagerly shared.  That faith carried her through to her heavenly home.  She will be sorely missed by her family and all those who knew and loved her.
