With heavy hearts and so much love, we announce the passing of Sherre Lynn Griffith, who left this world on August 12, 2026, at the age of 66. She was born on March 14, 1960, in Houston, Missouri, to Paul and Shirley Thompson.

Sherre spent her life surrounded by the people and things she loved most. Above all, she cherished her family. She was a loving mother to her son, Cody, and a proud grandmother to Damian, Katelyn, Brooklynn, and Cole, who brought so much love and joy into her life. Being their grandmother was one of her greatest blessings, and the memories they shared with her will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Sherre leaves behind a family who loves her beyond measure. She is survived by her parents, Paul and Shirley Thompson of Winona, MO; her son, Cody Smith of Missouri; four grandchildren, Damian, Katelyn, Booklynn, and Cole; her sisters, Christina (Ken) Hayashida of Springfield, MO, Juaquita Thompson of Winona, and Tonya (Troy) White of Winona; her nieces and nephews, Mindy Griffith, Cristina (Vince) Coppola, Zachary (Brittany) Vermillion, Logan Washburn, Jacob Thompson, Matthew Hayashida, Captolia Boyer, Chasidy Vermillion, and Mika Boyer; and many other family and friends.

Waiting to welcome Sherre home are her grandparents, Other and Josefeen Counts, and Allie Griffith; her brothers, Paul Wayne Thompson and Jimmy Griffith; and her aunts and uncles, Donna and Don Counts, Anna and Raymond Thompson, and Tex Counts.

Although our hearts ache knowing we can no longer hear her voice, see her smile, or share another day with her, we are incredibly grateful for every moment we were given.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Winona, Missouri, with Bro. Darrell Derryberry officiating, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Winona. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9-10:00 a.m., also at the cemetery.
