Sonya Sue Brewer passed away on May 2, 2024, at the age of 79.  She was born on August 26, 1944, at home in Grant City, Missouri, to Clifford and Carmeta Hass.  She graduated high school in Grant City and attended college at the University of Missouri.  She married Jim Brewer on July 25, 1965, and together they had three children.

Sonya is survived by her daughter, Jimile (Brewer) Voyles; son, Robert Brewer, and his wife, Dawn Brewer; daughter-in-law, Kay Brewer; six grandchildren, Madison Rogers, Lindsey Bennington, Dillon Voyles, Dalton Voyles, Chelsea Mounce, and Haylea DeWitt; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Walter Talmadge Hass and wife, Marilyn Hass; her sister, Julie Moore and husband, Randy Moore; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Sonya is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Carmeta Hass; her husband, Jim Brewer; and her oldest son, Ron Brewer.

Sonya was a devoted member of the Assembly of God Church in Eminence, Missouri, for over 50 years.  She played the piano and was the choir director in the Church for many years.  She loved her church family and attended every time the doors were open.  She loved spending time with her family, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Sonya also loved all sports, especially the Mizzou Tigers and Kansas City Chiefs.

Sonya's celebration of life will be on June 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. for visitation, and the services will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church, 18419 Main Street in Eminence, Missouri.
