Thelma Lee Williams was born September 3, 1933, in Van Buren, Missouri, the youngest daughter of Thomas Edgar and Mary (Baker) Williams. She departed this life on January 18, 2021, at Rock Point Nursing Center in Birch Tree, Missouri.

On June 11, 1951, she was united in marriage to Billy Lynn Friend, and to this union, three children were born.

She is survived by her children, Michael Wayne Friend and wife Carol of Olathe, KS, Joyce Elaine Yearwood and husband Bud of Birch Tree, MO, and Roy Edgar Friend and wife Le of New Port News, VA.

She was the proud grandmother to six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Thelma is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lena Carter of Springfield, MO, Lorene Dowler of St. James, MO; brothers, Emmet Williams of Thayer, MO, and Chester Williams of Louisiana, MO.

She saw all of the United States, Mexico, Canada, and even the Island of Bermuda, where she lived for three years. She then joined her husband in Germany, while there they visited Holland, France, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

Later in life, she resided at Rock Point Nursing Center, where she enjoyed and cared about her staff family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
