Vera Gennette (Reese) Shandy was born on July 7, 1925, to Fred and Alma (Beck) Reese in Mountain View, Missouri. She went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2025, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, at the age of 100. She was united in marriage to Ralph Cecil Shandy on September 9, 1947, in West Plains, Missouri.

Vera is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca Gleim and husband, Richard of Cabool, MO, and Trina Gillaspie and husband, Rick of Daytona Beach, FL; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Jennifer Shockley and husband, Marcus, and their three children, Simone, Tajae, and Zion, all of Cabool, MO, Adam Hamilton and wife, Ashley, and their two children, Andon and Avin, all of Niangua, MO, and Amy Seaburn and husband, Britain, and their two children, Kinley and Beckett all of Fort Irwin, CA; and one sister, Nita Achenbach of Marshfield, MO.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Old City Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri, with Marcus Shockley officiating, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
